Job Description
Unichain is Uniswap Labs' Layer-2 chain purpose-built as the home for liquidity and DeFi. The Backend Engineer will own projects end-to-end (scoping, design, implementation, production monitoring), write clean well-tested Rust code, build/maintain infrastructure keeping Unichain reliable 24/7, and participate in on-call rotations. Based at SoHo NYC HQ with partial/full remote option; min salary disclosed per NYC Pay Transparency Law.
Responsibilities
- Own infrastructure projects end-to-end: scope, design, implement, monitor in production
- Write clean, well-tested Rust code and raise the bar via code review
- Build/maintain infrastructure keeping Unichain reliable, performant and available 24/7
- Proactively identify gaps in systems and propose solutions
- Participate in on-call rotations
What we are looking for
- 5+ years backend engineering shipping production systems
- Experience building/operating distributed systems or blockchain infrastructure
- Comfort with ambiguity and 0-to-1 system building
- Solid cloud architecture and system design at scale
- Rust proficiency and OP Stack/rollup experience a strong plus
