Staff Software Engineer, Backend
Job Description
Helius is hiring a Staff Backend Engineer to own technical direction for a core backend system within its Solana developer platform. This is a staff-level extension of Helius's backend team, working on the same systems (Gatekeeper, Data Streaming, Historical APIs, Account Index) at a broader scope.
Responsibilities
- Own technical direction for a core backend system: architecture, reliability, performance, and roadmap
- Design solutions to distributed systems, storage, streaming, and edge infrastructure problems
- Drive performance engineering initiatives
- Set operational-excellence standards across the team
- Partner directly with founders on strategy
- Mentor senior and mid-level engineers
What we are looking for
- 8+ years of backend engineering experience with large-scale production systems
- Deep systems-level expertise
- Proficiency in Rust (preferred), C++, or Go
- Track record owning complex systems end-to-end
