Staff Smart Contract Engineer
Job Description
Aave Labs is hiring a Staff Smart Contract Engineer (Service Provider contract) to innovate and build on the Aave protocol and the GHO stablecoin, designing, implementing, and deploying Solidity smart contracts on Ethereum and other EVM networks.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and test secure Solidity contracts and dApps
- Contribute to protocol-level infrastructure and tooling
- Collaborate cross-functionally to define and ship new features
- Respond to and simulate security vulnerabilities
- Review other engineers' code with a security focus
- Mentor other engineers
What we are looking for
- Deep Solidity/EVM smart contract development experience
- Experience with DeFi protocols
- Strong security research habits (hacks, tooling, best practices)
- Debugging/troubleshooting production contract systems
- Passion for web3/DeFi
Additional Information
This is a Service Provider (contract) engagement rather than a direct employee role, reflecting Aave Labs' common structure for contributing engineers to the Aave DAO-governed protocol. The role covers smart contract work across the Aave Protocol and GHO stablecoin on Ethereum and other EVM networks.
