Staff/Senior Security Engineer, DeFi
Job Description
Ethena Labs is hiring a Staff or Senior Security Engineer to own security across its DeFi protocol—the issuer of USDe, the fastest-growing synthetic dollar in crypto. You will lead threat modeling, smart contract security reviews, red-team exercises, and infrastructure hardening for a system managing billions in TVL across multiple chains and CEX integrations.
Responsibilities
- Lead security reviews of smart contracts, off-chain infrastructure, and third-party integrations
- Design and conduct red-team/penetration testing exercises across on-chain and off-chain systems
- Establish and evolve security processes, incident response playbooks, and monitoring for protocol-level risks
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage the bug bounty program
What we are looking for
- 5+ years in security engineering with hands-on experience securing DeFi protocols or blockchain systems
- Deep knowledge of smart contract vulnerabilities (reentrancy, oracle manipulation, flash loan attacks, etc.)
- Proficiency in Solidity auditing tools (Slither, Echidna, Foundry invariant testing) and manual code review
- Experience with cloud/infrastructure security (AWS/GCP), secrets management, and zero-trust architecture
