Staff Performance Engineer, Trading Infrastructure

Helius is now seeking a Staff Performance Engineer to own the most latency-critical systems in the company's trading infrastructure. This is a senior technical leadership role where microseconds matter — you will set the technical direction for performance across the platform, profile and tune low-level Rust services that power traders and financial institutions, and lead cross-team initiatives to eliminate systemic performance bottlenecks. Responsibilities: Set technical direction for performance across latency-critical systems; profile, tune, and optimize low-level Rust services for traders and financial institutions; design systems for low-latency environments where microseconds matter; lead cross-team initiatives to eliminate systemic performance bottlenecks; own foundational systems end-to-end; mentor engineers on performance engineering and operational rigor.

Requirements: 8+ years systems-level engineering in Rust or C++; deep experience tuning high-throughput, latency-sensitive systems; track record of leading ambiguous cross-team technical projects; strong intuition for hardware, OS, and network performance; ability to operate with high ownership on difficult technical problems. Preferred: experience in DeFi or TradFi trading systems.
