Staff Backend Engineer
Job Description
Uniswap Labs, core contributor to the Uniswap Protocol (the largest DEX by volume, over $4T processed across 17 chains) and primary technical provider for the Unichain L2, is hiring a Staff Backend Engineer to help shape the architecture and strategy behind its Web App, Wallet and Trading API. This is a technical-leadership role driving large-scale backend initiatives across the engineering org.
Responsibilities
- Drive technical projects end-to-end, from design through deployment
- Architect resilient, large-scale backend systems focused on reliability and performance
- Write and review high-quality, well-tested code
- Guide peers on complex architectural and coding decisions
- Champion engineering best practices organization-wide
- Lead strategic technical initiatives spanning multiple engineering pods
What we are looking for
- 10+ years building/maintaining large-scale production systems
- Prior Technical Lead or equivalent leadership experience
- Cloud architecture, distributed systems, algorithms expertise
- TypeScript, Go, GraphQL, AWS (nice-to-have)
- Independent ownership of projects from requirements through deployment
- Track record mentoring engineers
