Software Engineer - Rust - Payward Services
Job Description
Payward Services, part of Kraken's parent company Payward, is looking for a Rust engineer to build and scale the backend systems behind its enterprise platform, including real-time service coordination and the infrastructure partners use to move money and assets. The team values ownership, comfort with ambiguity and robust engineering.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement reliable Rust services and libraries for trading, payments and crypto products
- Write reusable, testable, efficient code that scales across teams without compromising safety or security
- Contribute to large-scale distributed systems architecture for resilient, low-latency solutions
- Work with a large group of Rust engineers in a high-performance, product-driven culture
What we are looking for
- 3+ years of software engineering experience
- Proficiency in network services or asynchronous code in Rust
- Security-first mindset in system design
- Ability to debug issues across the OS, network and application stack
- Understanding of distributed systems, including RPC, Kafka and event-driven systems
- End-to-end ownership of systems and libraries
