Software Engineer, Java (Digital Asset Systems)
Job Description
Bitpanda is hiring a Software Engineer (Java) to join its Digital Asset Systems team in Vienna. This role builds core trading ecosystem systems — pricing engines, execution services, portfolio lifecycle, asset infrastructure, hedging, and prime services — handling order flow, market data, risk, and balances at scale. Hybrid: 3 days/week in Vienna.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain digital asset pricing engines and execution services
- Develop portfolio lifecycle management and asset infrastructure systems
- Implement hedging and prime brokerage service integrations
- Handle order flow, market data feeds, risk management, and balance systems at scale
- Design event-driven microservices using Kafka or ZeroMQ
- Ensure performance, reliability, and correctness of core trading infrastructure
What we are looking for
- Strong Java / Spring Boot expertise with production microservices experience
- Experience with Kafka or ZeroMQ for event-driven messaging architectures
- REST API design and implementation in distributed systems
- Proficiency with Postgres or MongoDB
- AWS / Kubernetes cloud-native infrastructure experience
- Understanding of trading systems, market data, and financial market concepts
