Software Engineer - Crypto Data Foundations

The Blockchain Data Platform team at Coinbase builds an ultra-low-latency indexing platform that ingests, normalizes and serves data across major blockchains, powering teams across Coinbase and external developers via the Coinbase Developer Platform. You will build and operate the distributed systems at its core.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate distributed systems for real-time blockchain data ingestion, indexing and query, owning services from design through production
• Own delivery of initiatives such as new chain integrations, migrations and backfills, improving latency, reliability and cost
• Define data contracts and contribute to SDKs and primitives that drive adoption
• Execute architecture and performance improvements across the indexing stack
• Support engineering quality through code reviews, testing and the use of AI tools

What we are looking for

• 2+ years building and operating distributed or data systems in production
• Solid systems design fundamentals: partitioning, consistency tradeoffs, stream processing and storage boundaries
• Proficiency in Go and/or Python, with familiarity across Kafka, gRPC, Redis, S3, ClickHouse or MongoDB
• Plus: blockchain data experience such as chain data structures, finality, reorgs, RPC nodes or wallets
