Smart Contract Engineer
Job Description
CoW DAO is looking for a Smart Contract Engineer to shape the next iterations of CoW Protocol and extend its real-world use cases. Working fully remotely, you will help design and implement the Solidity contracts that power CoW Swap and MEV Blocker—some of the most widely used decentralized trading infrastructure on Ethereum.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and audit Solidity smart contracts for CoW Protocol and related CoW DAO products
- Extend protocol capabilities to new use cases including settlement, solver infrastructure, and on-chain order flow
- Collaborate with protocol researchers, backend engineers, and the security team to ensure correctness and gas efficiency
- Write comprehensive tests, participate in audits, and maintain high standards for production contract quality
What we are looking for
- Strong Solidity expertise with production experience deploying contracts on Ethereum mainnet
- Deep understanding of EVM mechanics, gas optimization, and DeFi protocol design patterns
- Experience with Foundry, Hardhat, or similar testing frameworks; familiarity with formal verification is a plus
- Strong knowledge of MEV, order flow, and settlement mechanisms in decentralized exchanges
