Senior Data Engineer
Job Description
Ethena Labs is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build the data infrastructure that powers risk management, protocol analytics, and business intelligence for its synthetic dollar protocol. You will design pipelines that ingest on-chain and off-chain data—CEX positions, funding rates, collateral flows, chain events—and make that data reliable and queryable for the entire organization.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable data pipelines ingesting on-chain events, CEX APIs, and funding rate feeds
- Own the data warehouse and transformation layer (dbt models, data quality checks, lineage)
- Partner with risk, finance, and protocol teams to build dashboards and analytical models
- Ensure data reliability and SLAs for systems that directly inform protocol risk decisions
What we are looking for
- 5+ years in data engineering; strong Python and SQL; experience with dbt, Airflow, or similar orchestration
- Experience ingesting blockchain data (event logs, transactions, state) at scale, ideally via Dune, Goldsky, or custom pipelines
- Proficiency with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift) and stream processing tools
- Strong understanding of DeFi mechanics, funding rates, and derivatives markets preferred
