Senior Back-End Engineer, Trading Platform
Job Description
Blockchain.com is hiring a Senior Back-End Engineer to join its Trading Platform team in London. This role builds and maintains the core exchange and trading systems powering Blockchain.com's institutional and retail trading products, working with large-scale event-driven architectures and financial data pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain high-performance trading services including order management, matching engines, and settlement systems.
- Design event-driven architectures using Kafka and similar messaging systems.
- Develop APIs that serve trading front-ends and institutional partners.
- Collaborate with quant and product teams on new trading feature development.
- Ensure reliability, latency, and correctness of financial-grade trading systems.
What we are looking for
- 5+ years of back-end engineering experience; expertise in Go, Scala, or Java.
- Experience building low-latency trading systems, order books, or financial infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, event streaming (Kafka, NATS), and databases.
- Understanding of exchange microstructure, order types, and matching logic.
- Familiarity with blockchain settlement and crypto trading mechanics is a plus.
