Senior Analytics Engineer - Finance (Brazil)

Kraken is hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer for its Finance Data Engineering and Analytics team within Data Platform. You will work with Data Engineers, Finance and Platform Accounting to build reliable financial data pipelines, automated reconciliations and reporting for one of the world's leading crypto exchanges.

Responsibilities

• Work with Data Engineers, Finance and Platform Accounting to improve reporting and decision-making, agreeing priorities and driving adoption.
• Learn Finance workflows, find pain points and turn business needs into data and automation solutions.
• Build and maintain automated workflows for data preparation, reconciliations, reporting and follow-ups, with controls, monitoring and exception handling.
• Create dashboards and visualizations that help stakeholders track performance and investigate issues.
• Resolve finance data issues and reconciliation breaks with Finance, Product and Engineering, addressing root causes.
• Build scalable, reliable pipelines that collect, transform and curate data from internal and external systems.
• Help design and roll out a finance data lake with clear definitions, ownership and quality checks.
• Improve data timeliness, including near-real-time insights where they add value.
• Evaluate new technologies, including AI-assisted automation, and prototype finance solutions that can run reliably in production.

What we are looking for

• 7+ years in data analytics or data management within financial services or a regulated industry, working directly with Finance teams.
• Strong SQL and Python skills, including writing, debugging and maintaining production code.
• Solid experience with Git, merge requests, code reviews, testing and documentation.
• Hands-on experience with pipelines and models using dbt, Spark, Airflow or similar tools.
• Direct experience with finance or accounting data, such as reconciliations, subledgers, cost basis or month-end close, including validating outputs with accountants.
• A record of owning pipelines end to end and improving their reliability over time.
• Ability to lead complex work, handle ambiguity and take responsibility for production outcomes.
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical issues and financial implications to both Engineering and Finance.
• Nice to have: experience with cryptocurrency transaction data and large-scale distributed processing (Spark or PySpark).
