Security Engineer, Institutional Trading
Job Description
Blockchain.com is hiring a Security Engineer embedded within its Institutional Trading and FinOps team in London. This role owns the security posture of Blockchain.com's trading platform — performing threat modeling on trading-specific systems, monitoring for trading security signals, maintaining secrets and key management hygiene (KMS/HSM/Vault), and triaging SAST/SCA findings from the engineering pipeline. Based in London (4 days/week in office).
Responsibilities
- Perform threat modeling (STRIDE) across institutional trading and FinOps systems
- Monitor and respond to trading-specific security signals and anomalies
- Maintain secrets management hygiene across KMS, HSM, and Vault systems
- Triage and coordinate remediation of SAST/SCA findings in the CI/CD pipeline
- Develop and implement security controls for crypto custody and transaction flows
- Collaborate with engineering and DevOps to embed security throughout the SDLC
What we are looking for
- 5+ years of security engineering experience in financial, fintech, or crypto environments
- Expertise in threat modeling methodologies (STRIDE) applied to trading platforms
- Hands-on experience with SIEM and SOAR platforms for monitoring and incident response
- Strong knowledge of KMS/HSM/Vault secrets management systems
- Experience designing and implementing IAM frameworks
- Programming proficiency in TypeScript, Java, Kotlin, or Python for security automation
