Software Engineer, Wallets
Job Description
Rain is the global stablecoin payments platform for enterprises, neobanks, platforms, developers, and AI agents, issuing Visa and Mastercard-backed cards accepted at 175M+ merchant locations in 220+ countries. The team is hiring a Software Engineer to own the architecture of Rain's wallet infrastructure — custodial and non-custodial — spanning key management, transaction signing, authorization, and recovery. Backed by a $250M Series C at a $1.95B valuation (January 2026).
Responsibilities
- Design secure, scalable systems for custody, key management, signing, authorization, and recovery
- Build flexible signing infrastructure supporting MPC, HSMs, secure enclaves, and TEEs
- Build wallet systems across EOAs, smart contract wallets, account abstraction, and ERC-4337
- Architect key management covering generation, distributed key generation, storage, rotation, backup, and recovery
- Set technical direction for wallet security, threat modeling, and policy engines
What we are looking for
- Deep expertise in wallet, custody, cryptography, or security infrastructure
- Experience building production wallet, custody, signing, or key management systems
- Strong knowledge of applied cryptography (MPC, threshold signatures, ECDSA, EdDSA)
- Experience with HSMs, secure enclaves, or TEEs
- Track record of high-leverage architectural decisions in distributed systems
