Matter Labs is hiring a Protocol Security Engineer to help protect the core of ZKsync: its smart contracts, ZK circuits, and blockchain nodes. The role threat-models and reviews Solidity contracts and Rust state-transition code, tracks industry exploits to convert lessons into concrete fixes, and embeds secure-design practices across teams without formal authority over them.
This role extends Matter Labs' security hiring beyond general infrastructure security into protocol- and circuit-level threat modeling, reflecting the added attack surface that comes with ZKsync's shift toward Prividium and private settlement infrastructure for regulated institutions.

Matter Labs is the team behind zkSync, a ZK rollup that scales Ethereum with cryptographic validity proofs while preserving its security and decentralization. The company pioneered zero-knowledge proofs in production and continues to advance ZK technology to enable high-throughput, low-cost transactions for the Ethereum ecosystem. Matter Labs operates fully remotely across multiple countries.
