Principal Security Engineer (Solana)
Job Description
OpenZeppelin, the security standard for the smart contract industry with $35T+ in secured onchain value, is hiring a Principal Security Engineer to set technical direction for its Solana/SVM practice. The role starts with a confidential-computing engagement porting onchain FHE primitives to Solana, coordinated with the Solana Foundation, and expands into leading OpenZeppelin's broader SVM security work.
Responsibilities
- Lead Solana workstreams end-to-end, from scoping to delivery
- Build production-grade, security-first programs and libraries
- Own hard SVM design questions and architectural tradeoffs
- Run client-facing roadmap discussions with protocol teams
- Mentor the security engineering team
- Represent OpenZeppelin publicly in the Solana ecosystem
What we are looking for
- 3+ years building production Solana programs
- Deep fluency with the Solana Virtual Machine (SVM)
- Contributions to Solana standards (e.g. SIMD, SPL/Token 2022)
- Proficiency with both Anchor and the raw Solana runtime
- Security-first mindset with hands-on auditing experience
