Staff Platform Security Engineer
Job Description
Phantom is hiring a Staff Platform Security Engineer to harden its AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure, working directly with infrastructure and engineering teams to secure control planes, identities, workloads and deployment systems for production systems.
Responsibilities
- Secure multi-account AWS infrastructure (IAM, networking, compute, storage, org controls)
- Harden Amazon EKS, including cluster hardening, RBAC, workload identity and admission controls
- Design least-privilege access for engineers, services and automation
- Lead security architecture for new infrastructure and major changes
- Build reusable controls via infrastructure-as-code (Pulumi, Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Strengthen CI/CD and supply-chain security, and build AI-assisted remediation automation
What we are looking for
- 7+ years in platform/cloud security or related engineering
- Deep production AWS expertise (IAM, workload identity, networking, secrets)
- Extensive production Kubernetes/EKS security expertise
- IaC proficiency (Pulumi, Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Production coding ability in TypeScript, Python, Go or Rust
Additional Information
This role sits inside Phantom's infrastructure org rather than product security, giving it direct ownership over the AWS and Kubernetes control plane that every other engineering team builds on.
