Blockchain Engineer

Ondo is hiring a Blockchain Engineer to help design and maintain the smart contract systems behind its real-world-asset (RWA) tokenization products. The role goes beyond writing Solidity: the engineer will also be responsible for how contracts are deployed, monitored, secured, and operated over their full lifetime, and for building tooling that lets non-engineering teams safely observe and manage on-chain state.

The position sits at the intersection of protocol engineering and product delivery, working across new chain deployments, cross-chain DeFi interoperability, and bridging solutions. The engineer will partner closely with product, legal, compliance, and web teams to make sure contract-level decisions hold up operationally and regulatorily as they ripple out to end users.

This is a mid-to-senior individual contributor role aimed at someone who has already helped scale a live DeFi protocol and wants to apply that experience to bringing traditional financial assets on-chain.

• Help architect smart contract systems for new chain deployments, cross-chain bridging, and DeFi interoperability work
• Own contract security across the full lifecycle, including upgrade safety and administrative controls, not just at initial deployment
• Build internal tooling and automation so non-technical teammates can safely monitor and manage on-chain state
• Work with web, product, legal, and compliance teams to keep contract design aligned with real-world operational and regulatory needs
• Support senior engineers and leadership on high-impact blockchain initiatives with sound technical trade-offs

• 3+ years of general software engineering experience, including 1+ years specifically in blockchain engineering
• Strong Solidity skills, ideally gained at another live, multi-chain DeFi protocol
• Exposure to non-EVM smart contract environments (Solana experience called out as a plus)
• Ability to design full systems around a contract (tooling, automation, security), not just the contract logic itself
• Python and/or TypeScript for building supporting tooling and automation
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
