Mobile Engineer, React Native (100% Remote) – Madrid
Job Description
Tether is hiring a React Native mobile engineer to develop and maintain Keet Mobile, a peer-to-peer chat and calling app for iOS and Android built with React Native and Expo. The P2P core runs on the device in a Bare worklet, and the role owns features end to end from UI/UX to the P2P core APIs.
Responsibilities
- Build and polish chat, voice and video calls, media sharing, device pairing and identity backup.
- Integrate native capabilities such as push notifications, camera, biometrics and background tasks on iOS and Android.
- Profile and optimize performance on real devices (startup time, long chats, media, battery, network).
- Write unit and end-to-end tests and support stable releases through CI and crash reporting.
- Work with the core P2P, design and product teams to keep a high quality bar.
What we are looking for
- Significant experience with React Native, Redux and Redux-Saga.
- Highly proficient in JavaScript and ES6+.
- Experience with WebSockets and RESTful APIs.
- Experience working with a remote team.
- Native knowledge (Swift/Kotlin) and Xcode/Android Studio familiarity are advantageous; experience building on P2P frameworks is a bonus.
