Senior Backend Engineer (Cloud Wallet)

Ledger's Cloud Wallet team builds and runs the backend services for blockchain account management, transaction processing and on-chain data aggregation. These services power Ledger Live and Ledger Enterprise, the custody platform for financial institutions. The team uses functional programming and shares knowledge through sessions, meetups and open source.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and operate Scala services connecting Ledger wallets and Ledger Enterprise to blockchain backends
- Lead new blockchain integrations from design (ADR) through production
- Own production quality: SLIs/SLOs, observability, tracing, on-call and incident resolution
- Define contracts with the Coin Integration and Enterprise teams
- Write and review ADRs and raise standards for code quality and testing
- Use AI coding agents daily and mentor engineers
What we are looking for
- 5+ years of backend engineering with production ownership of distributed systems
- Interest in Scala and functional programming
- Hands-on blockchain integration experience on at least two models (account-based, UTXO, privacy-preserving)
- Experience with event-driven systems and data infrastructure (PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, NATS) and observability tools (e.g. Datadog)
- Comfort reading and contributing to TypeScript
- Clear written English
