Head of Platform Engineering
Job Description
Ethena Labs is hiring a Head of Platform Engineering to build and lead the team responsible for the infrastructure underpinning USDe and the broader Ethena ecosystem. You will own cloud infrastructure, developer tooling, CI/CD, and platform reliability—enabling a fast-growing protocol team to ship confidently and safely at scale.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead the Platform Engineering team, hiring and developing senior infrastructure engineers
- Own cloud infrastructure architecture (AWS/GCP), Kubernetes clusters, and networking for the Ethena protocol
- Design and evolve CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and internal developer platform tooling
- Set and enforce reliability standards (SLAs, SLOs, on-call runbooks) across protocol and off-chain systems
What we are looking for
- 8+ years in platform/infrastructure engineering with 3+ years leading engineering teams
- Deep hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, Terraform, and major cloud platforms (AWS or GCP)
- Experience operating high-availability, latency-sensitive financial or crypto systems in production
- Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to balance technical depth with strategic platform thinking
