Fraud Engineer (Scam Hunter)

ether.fi is one of the largest crypto companies in the world, with over $10B in assets under management. Their products — Stake, Liquid, and Cash — let users earn yield through DeFi strategies and spend their assets globally through their credit card program. This role is for a technical Fraud Engineer with a natural white-hat hacker and scam hunter mindset. You will spot anomalous patterns, reverse-engineer attack campaigns, and build systems that stay one step ahead of sophisticated fraudsters. Maintaining world-class fraud and risk defense is core to protecting users and the long-term health of the card program.

• Identify and investigate fraudulent activity across on-chain and off-chain data
• Reverse-engineer attack campaigns and scam infrastructure to understand threat actors
• Build detection, prevention, and response systems for fraud at scale
• Develop real-time tooling to monitor anomalous patterns across the platform
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams on security controls

• Strong understanding of blockchain and crypto ecosystems including DeFi protocols
• Experience with fraud detection, security engineering, or threat intelligence
• White-hat or adversarial mindset — ability to think like an attacker
• Strong data analysis skills to identify anomalies at scale
• Experience with payment systems, card programs, or fintech security is a plus
