Director, Stablecoin and Digital Assets Risk Intelligence & Strategy

Visa is hiring a Director to own the long-term vision, strategy and execution of its stablecoin and digital-asset risk intelligence capabilities. The role reports to the Senior Director of the Global CSR team, leads a team of three and combines digital-asset risk expertise with AI-enabled risk analytics.

Responsibilities

• Set risk appetite, approval frameworks and monitoring requirements for stablecoin and digital-asset counterparties such as issuers, custodians and exchanges.
• Build frameworks for settlement limits, concentrations, liquidity, collateral, stress testing and scenario analysis.
• Run forward-looking surveillance and turn financial, regulatory, market and on-chain signals into insights and senior-management reporting.
• Own the vision, priorities and roadmap for the Stablecoin Risk Intelligence Platform, including AI-enabled detection, decision support, reporting and automation.
• Align Treasury, Product, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Crypto and CSR teams on priorities, decision rights, controls and escalation.
• Prepare for depegs, liquidity disruptions, custody or cyber events and sanctions concerns, and anticipate regulatory developments.
• Set standards for data quality, model performance, explainability, human oversight, validation and control testing.
• Build a high-performing team and define key risk indicators.

What we are looking for

• 10+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree, 8+ years with an advanced degree, or 3+ years with a PhD.
• Deep understanding of stablecoin economics, reserve structures, custody and wallet models, settlement flows, on- and off-ramps, blockchain infrastructure and relevant regulation.
• Strength in credit and financial analysis, quantitative methods, scenario analysis and executive communication.
• Experience designing, deploying or governing AI/ML/LLM systems in risk, compliance or financial analytics, including model validation and explainability.
• Familiarity with model risk management standards.
• Experience building governance frameworks, controls and incident-response processes in regulated environments.
• Preferred: people management experience and working knowledge of AI applications in risk analytics and workflow automation.

Additional Information

Hybrid role based in Foster City, CA; office days are agreed with the hiring manager. Travel is 5-10% of the time. Employer-stated US pay range: $179,000 to $287,000 per year, possibly with bonus and equity.
