Director, Backend Engineering – Brokerage

Galaxy Digital is looking for a Director of Backend Engineering for its Brokerage division. You will lead the engineering team building Galaxy's institutional trading infrastructure including OTC, derivatives, and market-making systems. Based in New York, NY with compensation of $275,000–$300,000 USD.

• Lead and grow the backend engineering team responsible for Galaxy's brokerage and institutional trading platform.
• Define technical architecture for low-latency trading systems, risk engines, and OTC settlement infrastructure.
• Drive technical roadmap alignment with product, trading desk, and operations leadership.
• Mentor senior engineers and build a high-performance, accountable engineering culture.
• Partner with compliance, legal, and product teams on regulatory and operational requirements.

• 10+ years of backend engineering experience; 3+ years in an engineering director or equivalent leadership role.
• Background in financial systems, trading infrastructure, or institutional fintech is required.
• Expertise in low-latency, high-throughput systems (Go, Java, C++, or similar).
• Strong understanding of crypto market microstructure, OTC trading, or derivatives markets.
• Proven track record building and scaling engineering teams of 10+ across multiple product lines.
