DevOps Engineer
Job Description
Espresso Systems is hiring a DevOps Engineer to operate and scale the infrastructure behind its decentralized confirmation layer for Ethereum rollups. You will work on the systems that validators, sequencers, and rollup operators depend on—building reliable, cloud-native deployments for a globally distributed network of nodes.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and operate Kubernetes clusters and cloud infrastructure for Espresso's validator and sequencer network
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for blockchain node software and protocol infrastructure
- Implement observability (metrics, logs, traces) and on-call runbooks for distributed consensus systems
- Automate infrastructure provisioning with Terraform/Pulumi; manage secrets, networking, and access controls
What we are looking for
- 3+ years of DevOps/SRE experience with strong Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Experience operating blockchain nodes or distributed systems (validators, consensus, peer-to-peer networking)
- Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or Pulumi) and CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
- Strong observability skills: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, or equivalent; experience with on-call incident response
