Senior Software Engineer, Stablecoins

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Software Engineer on its Stablecoin team to help build and scale Coinbase Custom Stablecoins (CCS), the platform letting partners launch their own branded, USDC-backed stablecoins on Coinbase's infrastructure. The role sits at the intersection of backend engineering and smart contract development, owning services and onchain contracts that power issuance, reserves, minting/burning, and rewards distribution.

• Own and evolve smart contracts that mint, burn, and safeguard custom stablecoin supply
• Build and scale backend services powering onboarding, issuance, reserve accounting, and rewards distribution
• Partner with product, design, and tech leads to ship the stablecoin roadmap every quarter
• Drive architectural decisions across backend and smart contract surfaces, balancing security, scalability, and delivery speed

• 5+ years of experience designing, building, and operating production backend services
• Experience writing, testing, and deploying smart contracts (Solidity or similar EVM languages) in production
• Working knowledge of onchain security tradeoffs — audits, upgradeability, access control, key management
• Familiarity with Golang and onchain fundamentals; direct DeFi or stablecoin infrastructure experience preferred
