Senior Software Engineer, Agent Verification

Coinbase's Agent Verification team builds the controls that let the company ship software safely in an AI-native engineering environment. This senior engineer leads the "Unified Merge Gate" that decides whether code can ship.

• Lead design/delivery of the Unified Merge Gate (merge decisioning system)
• Integrate automated review, policy/risk scoring, CI results, and identity/attestation evidence into one merge decision
• Build backend integrations across GitHub, CI, and internal policy systems
• Migrate repos from legacy controls to the new gate with safe rollout/rollback
• Partner with Security, Compliance, and Infrastructure teams

• 7+ years backend/distributed-systems experience (Go or similar)
• API design, durable state, failure recovery, safe rollout experience
• CI/CD and source-control integration experience
• Strong security/authorization judgment
• Hands-on fluency with AI-assisted engineering workflows

Remote role based in the USA; Coinbase offers the option to be paid partly or fully in digital currency.
