Senior Software Engineer (Backend): Layer 1 Crypto Payments
Job Description
BVNK is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to design and build the core Layer 1 blockchain infrastructure powering its high-throughput crypto payments platform, sitting at the intersection of blockchain protocol integration and high-availability payment systems, tackling speed, reliability, custody and scalability for 24/7 transaction execution.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain backend services powering blockchain integrations, custody and on-chain transaction processing at scale
- Build integrations with blockchain networks, crypto providers and custody infrastructure across multi-chain operations
- Contribute to the architecture of the Layer1 platform ensuring reliability and data integrity
- Build and maintain APIs covering the digital asset lifecycle: address generation, deposits, withdrawals, balances
- Drive observability, monitoring and incident response improvements
- Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rotation
What we are looking for
- 5+ years backend engineering, deep proficiency in Java, Kotlin or similar JVM languages
- Experience building and operating microservices in distributed systems
- Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and event-driven architectures (Kafka, SQS/SNS)
- Experience with AWS/GCP/Azure and Docker/Kubernetes
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD
