Head of Design, Product Design

BitGo, the digital asset infrastructure company delivering custody, wallets, staking, trading and settlement services, is hiring a Head of Design who still designs. The role manages and mentors a small, senior design team, owns the design system end-to-end, and sits alongside the Chief Product Officer on business strategy, with roughly half the role spent on direct hands-on design work.

• Own design surfaces directly and ship them at the quality bar expected of the team
• Invest in each designer's growth with candid, craft-specific feedback
• Own the design system end to end: tokens, patterns, governance and adoption
• Represent design in strategy, roadmap and architecture conversations

• Experience leading design in financial services or another complex technical domain
• Has built and owned a design system at scale, not just used one
• Hands-on in Figma and a role model for craft; has managed and developed designers
• Technically literate with APIs, data models and engineering trade-offs

This role is full-time onsite in Palo Alto. BitGo's design team is small and senior, with each designer owning a wide vertical (trading, staking, DeFi vaults, earn, wallets, financing).
