Backend Engineer, Privy
Job Description
Privy, operating within Stripe, is hiring a Backend Engineer to design and build the backend systems powering its wallet, identity, and on-chain infrastructure at scale. The role covers platform primitives and APIs used across both Privy and Stripe, including architecture for multi-region, low-latency systems and blockchain abstractions exposed to mainstream, non-crypto-native developers.
Responsibilities
- Design and build backend systems and APIs powering Privy's wallet and identity infrastructure
- Architect multi-region, low-latency systems at scale
- Build blockchain abstractions usable by developers without prior crypto experience
- Collaborate across Privy and Stripe teams on shared platform primitives
What we are looking for
- 8+ years building production systems at scale
- Strong API and data-model design skills
- Comfort operating in a fast-iteration engineering culture
- Blockchain or smart-contract experience is a plus, not required
