Backend Engineer
Job Description
LayerZero Labs is hiring a Backend Engineer to build the scalable backend systems underpinning its cross-chain messaging protocol, which reportedly supports tens of billions of dollars in daily transactional volume. The role is broad backend/distributed-systems work rather than a narrowly blockchain-specific position, though prior crypto exposure is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design and build backend systems supporting LayerZero's cross-chain messaging infrastructure
- Write clean, scalable, well-tested production code
- Work with AWS services to deploy, manage, and scale applications
- Build with workflow engines as part of backend pipelines
- Collaborate across teams on architecture and implementation decisions
What we are looking for
- 2+ years backend development experience on production, scalable systems
- TypeScript
- AWS deployment and scaling experience
- Workflow engine experience
- Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent
- Blockchain/smart contract/DeFi experience (plus, not required)
