Software Engineer, Payments Product Lead
Job Description
Aptos is standing up a dedicated payments business built around an exclusive global settlement partnership, and this role is the founding technical hire for that unit. The engineer will own the Aptos Payment API end to end, own partner-facing technical integrations with banks, PSPs, and stablecoin issuers, and build the underlying trust infrastructure including revenue reconciliation, KYC/KYB, and a compliance-ready testnet sandbox.
The role requires 8+ years building payment infrastructure at production scale, plus hands-on experience with stablecoin settlement rails and wallet infrastructure. Because this is hire number one on the team, the person is expected to ship code directly during the first 90 days while also hiring and mentoring the first engineers who join afterward.
Responsibilities
- Own the Aptos Payment API end to end
- Lead partner-facing technical integrations with banks, PSPs, and stablecoin issuers
- Build trust infrastructure: revenue reconciliation, KYC/KYB, compliance sandbox
- Ship code directly during the first 90 days and hire/mentor early team members
What we are looking for
- 8+ years building payment infrastructure at production scale (PSP or orchestrator-class systems)
- Hands-on experience with stablecoin settlement rails and wallet infrastructure
- Move or Rust familiarity a plus
