Principal, Business Operations - AI & Automation Headline
Job Description
Payward Services, Kraken's B2B arm, is building an AI-native operations function where automation is the operating model, with Claude-powered workflows and agentic pipelines already powering core processes. This Principal role co-owns the automation stack, builds intelligent systems that let a 50-person team operate like 500, and owns the AI roadmap end-to-end from opportunity identification through design, build and scale.
Responsibilities
- Own the AI automation roadmap for Payward Services: identify, prioritize, build, ship
- Build and deploy agentic workflows and AI-powered tools (Claude-based assistants, automated reporting, pipeline systems, internal bots)
- Bring structure, automation and speed to ambiguous, under-owned processes
- Partner across Sales, Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance and Compliance to translate business problems into automation solutions
- Drive 0-to-1 initiatives from problem discovery to prototype to production
- Establish best practices for AI tooling, prompt engineering and workflow design
What we are looking for
- 5+ years in Business Operations, Consulting, or Product Strategy in high-growth tech, fintech or crypto
- AI-native mindset: uses AI tools daily and automates before doing anything manually
- Hands-on builder with Claude, APIs, n8n, scripting and automation platforms
- Data-driven: can pull, clean and analyze data independently
- High ownership, comfort in ambiguity, bias to action
- Nice to have: MBB background, agentic workflows / MCP integrations, AI cost optimization, Claude Projects or Anthropic API experience
